Snow Ponies + New Music!

Our very own Kesia Nagata is currently in the studio working on her debut album for 2017. So here’s a preview of one of her songs, appropriately titled, Looking For Horses, paired with some footage of my herd on a beautiful snowy day in December. Kesia’s horses also lived in this field for a while so she too has fond memories of tromping through these woods with her herd.

Watching this video afterwards, I noticed how the horses have quite a clear dialogue/discussion among themselves in the beginning about whether they’re going to follow me into the woods, or not.

Jax is the 2nd youngest and most playful one and he decides to give it a go. But they’re only in there for a short while before galloping back out.

Towards the end of the video you can see them walking toward the water troughs – well that’s what they were trying to tell me. The water had frozen over, because for some unknown reason the landlord had removed my submersible water heater! So you see, they had far more important things to do than play in the woods.

Just one more example of why it’s always a good idea to listen to your horse 🙂

This just struck a cord with me – so peaceful and poignant. Kesia’s voice is as beautiful as her soul, and to watch Jini’s herd interacting and playing – what a lovely start to the day. Thank you so much – can’t wait for the album!

You are all so very welcome! And so glad that Kesia’s beautiful, healing music will be going out into the world soon. Although she’s been playing live events for yonks, it will be wonderful for people worldwide, to be able to access/experience her gift. When I was driving through the Arizona desert a few weeks ago, Kesia’s music is the only thing I wanted to listen to – the only soundscape that fit my experience and facilitated me sinking even deeper into it. The album’s going to be awesome, for sure!

So beautiful !!! Kesia’s voice is stunning – soft and silky and soooooo relaxing and smooth!!! And I loved seeing the horses play in the snow- especially living in California where we never see snow!!!
Where is the baby? Or was this footage taken last year? I can’t wait to hear the whole album when it comes out! Both of you have such great synergy with your Listen to Your Horse blog.

Baby Juno is in there – he’s just so danged big already he looks like a pony! Only mama and baby have the white stripe down their face. Video was shot last week, so he’s 5 months old now. If/when Kesia ever gets to San Diego she could jam with Steve and the boys – she’s great live too. 🙂 And I love your description of her voice – you nailed it.
