Will 2-week-old Foal Stay Lying Down with Me when Mama Walks Off?

As we are all waiting eagerly for winter to end, I was watching video footage of the summer Juno was born. At only 2 weeks old, this 3/4 Belgian, 1/4 Fjord colt is huge! And so much palomino cuteness I can hardly stand it 🙂

Here’s a video of an afternoon I sat down with Juno while he was snoozing. But then… mama Aude walked away to go get water, and the entire herd left to walk to the trough at the other end of the field. Aude trusted me to watch over her baby, but would he feel safe with me, or follow the herd?
